Maharaj authored three books – Bhaktisaramrita, Bhaktileelamrita and Santakathamrita in which he presented the life sketches and teachings of the modern saints. There are seven chapters about Shirdi Sai Baba in the above
mentioned books.These have been compiled and translated in the form of a book – Sai Hari Katha. This book would be useful and important for Sai bhaktas and those doing research on Shirdi Sai Baba.
This book contains information about Baba’s childhood, his stay with Guru, arrival at Shirdi and other matters related to spiritual and worldly affairs.
Dasganu Maharaj’s original name was Ganpat Rao Dattatrey Sahastrabudhe. He was working as a police constable and was very much satisfied and engrossed in worldly affairs. Sai Baba wanted Dasganu Maharaj’s spiritual upliftment and hence pulled him towards his lotus feet.
With his bhajans and kirtans he spread Baba’s name to every household in western India . He wrote many spiritual texts and verses. He composed verses like ‘Shirdi Majhe Pandharpur,’ ‘Sai Raham Nazar Karna’, ‘Raham Nazar Karo’ which are very popular and are sung throughout the world in Baba’s aarti. Dasganu Maharaj will be remembered forever when and where Baba’s aarti will be sung.
